Athlete from Alushta became the world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling

        Disciple of Alushta sports club "Leopard", the 20-year-old Edem Gafarov became world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling. This news was reported by the head of the department of family, youth and sports Natalia Kandieva.

        According to athlete`s coach Alexan Stepanian, the world championship was held on September 5-6 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Edem Gafarov performed in the weight category up to 74 kg and had four fights.
        The coach said that in semi-final Alushta`s wrestler took revenge on his longtime rival Edward Sirodanov. Last year Russian athlete defeated Edem in the final of the European Championship.
